The Venue: Nestled on the picturesque banks of the River Thames in East London, this stunning Grade II listed venue is a blank canvas brick building that serves as a breathtaking backdrop for weddings, corporate events, filming, and exhibitions. Rich in history and brimming with character, this venue offers a unique space where unforgettable memories are made.

Job Summary: I am seeking a proactive and results-driven 360 Event & Sales Manager to lead the end-to-end management of events while driving sales growth for this extraordinary venue. This role blends event management expertise with a strong focus on business development, client acquisition, and revenue generation. The ideal candidate will be equally passionate about delivering exceptional events and maximizing the commercial potential of a Grade II listed venue.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales & Business Development:
    • Drive sales efforts to attract new clients across all event types, including weddings, corporate events, film shoots, and exhibitions.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events to generate leads.
    • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets, focusing on both short-term and long-term growth.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key industry partners, including event planners, corporate clients, production companies, and agencies.
    • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
  2. Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary contact for clients, from initial inquiry through to event completion, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience.
    • Conduct site visits, consultations, and planning meetings to showcase the venue and align with client expectations.
    • Foster long-term relationships with clients, encouraging repeat business, referrals, and positive word-of-mouth.
  3. Event Planning & Coordination:
    • Manage the full lifecycle of events, ensuring all elements are meticulously planned and executed to the highest standard.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and objectives, translating these into detailed event plans.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure all aspects of the event—catering, AV, décor, entertainment—are flawlessly executed.
    • Develop and manage event timelines, floor plans, and logistics.
  4. Venue Management:
    • Oversee the preparation and setup of the venue, ensuring it meets client expectations and maintains the integrity of the Grade II listed building.
    • Manage the operational aspects during events, including health and safety, crowd management, and on-the-day troubleshooting.
    • Ensure the venue’s historical features are preserved while adapting the space to meet client needs.
  5. Marketing & Promotion:
    • Work closely with the marketing team to create and implement campaigns that highlight the venue’s unique features and attract target audiences.
    • Participate in promotional activities, including open houses, industry events, and online marketing initiatives to generate leads and boost bookings.
    • Assist in the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, social media content, and website updates.
  6. Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability while delivering outstanding events.
    • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to optimize costs and enhance client value.
    • Monitor financial performance, providing regular reports on sales, revenue, and event expenses.
  7. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and inspire a team of event coordinators, support staff, and vendors to deliver high-quality events.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
    • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Strong sales acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • Experience in managing events in historic or unique venues is highly desirable.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, event management software, and sales tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
