Job Description:

Role Summary: The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the restaurant, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient budgeting, and effective cost control. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:
    • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
    • Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
    • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the management team.
    • Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide regular updates to the management team.
    • Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  3. Financial Reporting:
    • Produce timely and accurate financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  4. Analysis and Planning:
    • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Analyse revenue and expense trends, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to enhance profitability.
  5. Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Ensure compliance with tax laws, employment regulations, and industry standards.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  6. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with other departments to support their financial needs and goals.
    • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  7. Technology and Systems:
    • Manage and optimize financial software and systems.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in financial technology.
