Job Overview:

My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Meeting & Events Manager to lead their Meetings & Events team at our 4-star hotel in North London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall selling & planning of meetings, conferences, weddings, and other events. You will manage a team of 4, ensuring all events meet the highest standards of service, guest satisfaction, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 4 Meetings & Events Managers, Executives & Coordinators.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and support professional development initiatives.
  • Event Planning & Execution:
    • Oversee the selling, planning & organization of all meetings and events, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and tailor events to exceed their expectations.
    • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Client Relations & Sales:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all meeting and event clients, providing exceptional customer service from initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and other stakeholders.
    • Maximise event bookings and upsell additional services.
  • Budget Management & Reporting:
    • Prepare and manage the Meetings & Events department budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
    • Monitor event costs and ensure profitability through effective negotiation with suppliers and careful planning.
    • Provide regular financial and operational reports to the General Manager.
  • Quality Control & Compliance:
    • Ensure all events meet the hotel’s quality standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
    • Continuously assess guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance service quality.
  • Marketing & Business Development:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the hotel’s meeting and event spaces, including social media, online platforms, and local partnerships.
    • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the development of strategies to attract new clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Meeting & Events Manager or similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a 4-star hotel environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in leading a small team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and reporting.
  • Knowledge of event management software and tools.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A degree or diploma in Event Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
