The Role:

As the Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the kitchen brigade. Collaborating closely with the talented Head Chef, you will contribute to the creation of innovative menus and assist in leading a team dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development, ensuring that it aligns with our culinary vision and showcases the best of modern British cuisine.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety.
  • Lead, inspire, and motivate the kitchen team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior staff members, nurturing their skills and encouraging growth.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering and stock control, to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain impeccable attention to detail, consistently delivering dishes that exceed guests’ expectations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for the team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a reputable establishment, preferably with experience in modern British cuisine.
  • A genuine passion for culinary arts and a keen interest in staying up-to-date with current food trends.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
