Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in ensuring outstanding food quality, consistency and compliance, while supporting menu development, team leadership and smooth kitchen operations. This is a fast-paced, high-profile environment suited to a passionate chef who thrives under pressure and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistent Food Quality: Maintain exceptional standards in preparation, presentation, taste, portion control and allergen awareness.
- Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure full adherence to HACCP procedures, temperature control, hygiene and storage regulations.
- Operational Efficiency: Deliver high-volume service efficiently, minimising waste and maintaining organised, clean workspaces.
- Team Leadership: Support and supervise junior chefs, fostering strong communication between kitchen and front of house.
- Menu Planning & Costing: Assist with menu development and cost control to achieve financial targets.
- Stock & Equipment Management: Oversee deliveries, report quality issues and ensure proper care of kitchen equipment.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment, following fire, safety and PPE procedures.
- Administration: Complete wastage sheets, cleaning schedules and temperature logs in line with company standards.
About You
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a comparable Sous Chef role.
- Strong high-volume or large-event catering experience.
- Passionate about food, hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Solid understanding of health & safety and food safety legislation.
- Commercially aware, numerate and confident with reporting and kitchen systems.
- Calm under pressure with a positive, team-focused approach.
