Job Description

One of the UK’s leading event catering businesses, delivering exceptional food and hospitality experiences at some of the country’s largest outdoor events, festivals, sporting fixtures, corporate occasions, and public gatherings is looking for a superstar.

At a time of growth, they are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Major Accounts & Operations Director to lead key client relationships and oversee the successful delivery of large-scale events from proposal through to execution.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position combining strategic account management with operational delivery. You will take ownership of major client accounts, ensuring exceptional service, commercial performance, and flawless event execution.

Managing projects from initial enquiry and proposal through to on-site delivery and post-event review, you will work closely with clients, operational teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders to deliver outstanding results at high-profile events across the UK.

-Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and event organisers.

-Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions.

-Identify opportunities for account growth, upselling, and long-term partnerships.

-Act as the primary point of contact for strategic clients.

-Ensure exceptional client satisfaction and retention.

-Oversee the planning and delivery of large-scale outdoor events and catering operations.

-Manage event timelines, budgets, resources, and operational plans.

-Coordinate cross-functional teams including operations, logistics, staffing, procurement, and finance.

-Ensure all events are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.

-Conduct post-event evaluations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

-Prepare and present proposals, tenders, and pitches.

-Drive revenue growth and margin performance across key accounts.

-Monitor budgets, forecasts, and operational KPIs.

-Identify efficiencies and opportunities to improve profitability.

-Lead and mentor operational and account management teams.

-Foster a high-performance culture focused on customer service and operational excellence.

-Support recruitment, development, and succession planning within the business.

About You

You will be an experienced senior leader with a proven track record in event catering, hospitality, venue operations, or large-scale event management.

-Significant experience managing major accounts within events, catering, hospitality, or related sectors.

-Proven experience delivering large-scale outdoor events.

-Strong commercial acumen with responsibility for budgets, P&L, and contract negotiations.

-Demonstrable success managing projects from proposal through to delivery.

-Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.

-Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.

-Commercially focused and results-driven.

-Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.

-Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

-Confident communicator and presenter.

-Flexible and willing to travel extensively during event seasons.
