Job information

Job Description

We’re looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Senior Sales & Events Manager to lead the sales planning and events at a stunning historic venue. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on both winning business and delivering exceptional events while leading and developing a high-performing team.

You’ll own the entire client journey—from the first enquiry and venue tour through to planning every detail and overseeing flawless delivery on the day. You’ll also manage and inspire a team of four, ensuring exceptional customer service and consistently high standards across every event.

The Role

As Senior Sales & Events Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading, managing, mentoring, and developing a team of four Sales & Events professionals.
  • Driving venue sales and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Conducting venue showings for prospective corporate and wedding clients.
  • Preparing bespoke proposals, quotations, and contracts.
  • Building strong client relationships from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up.
  • Overseeing the planning and coordination of corporate events, weddings, and private functions.
  • Taking ownership of key events from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring an exceptional client experience throughout.
  • Acting as the senior lead on event days, ensuring seamless execution and resolving any issues professionally.
  • Working closely with operational teams, catering, and external suppliers to deliver outstanding events.
  • Identifying opportunities to maximise revenue through upselling, repeat business, and new business development.
  • Monitoring team performance, managing sales pipelines, and ensuring revenue targets are achieved.
  • Representing the venue at networking events, wedding fairs, and industry showcases.

About You

You’ll be a confident leader with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for hospitality and events.

You’ll have:

  • Proven experience in venue sales, hospitality, weddings, or corporate event management.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and motivating a team.
  • A successful track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing events from enquiry through to on-the-day delivery.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A flexible, hands-on approach, including occasional evenings and weekends to support events.

If you’re an experienced sales and events professional ready to lead a talented team and deliver exceptional experiences from enquiry to execution, we’d love to hear from you.
