At Change Hospitality, we are proud to be working in partnership with a leading, high-volume production kitchen operation to recruit an experienced and highly organised Senior Sous Chef.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven culinary professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering consistency, efficiency, and quality at scale. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the smooth running of a fast-paced production environment.

The Role
As Senior Sous Chef, you will:

  • Support the Head Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of a high-volume production kitchen
  • Lead and supervise kitchen teams to deliver consistent, high-quality food at scale
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and packing processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Monitor and control food costs, waste, and labour efficiency
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff
  • Ensure all production deadlines and dispatch schedules are consistently met
  • Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a high-volume or production kitchen
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Solid understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures
  • Experience with large-scale batch cooking and production planning
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work a 5 out of 7 rota, including weekends

Desirable Experience

  • Background in central production kitchens, contract catering, or food manufacturing
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and production planning software
  • A passion for process improvement and operational efficiency
